Mesa Engineering 20/20 All Tube Dyna-Watt Stereo Power Amp

I bought this power amp a little over a year ago as a backup to my other Mesa 20/20. It has never left my house, and I’ve only put maybe 3-5 hours of light bedroom use on it during the 15 months I’ve owned it. The original owner told me that the amp was essentially brand new when I bought it from him . . . So this power amp has had very little use, and it shows! Functionally it is perfect; and cosmetically it is near perfect except for 2 small paint chips that I put on it myself simply due to moving it between racks here and there over the last year (see close-up photos). The toggle switches even feel new – they feel tight and crisp when switching them (contrary to the toggle switches on my other Mesa 20/20, which feel more spongy from use).

When I bought this amp, I pulled the stock Mesa EL84′s and 12AX7′s out, and installed the JJ’s that originally came installed in my other Mesa 20/20. According to the previous owner of that amp, these tubes have only 10-20 hours use on them. But since I wasn’t the one who bought the tubes new, I can’t actually guarantee their age. However, they look and sound great (of course you can’t tell a tube’s age by looking at it). As an FYI – other than Mesa-branded tubes, JJ EL84′s are the only drop-in replacement tubes you can use in this amp without requiring that the amp be rebiased.

I believe this is the latest (last?) generation of these 20/20′s. The older ones had a chrome chassis; then they went to the black chassis with the black knobs, and the latest ones have the black chassis with the chrome knobs. This amp includes the owner’s manual, brand-new power cord, warranty material, hang tags, and bumper sticker – it appears to be all of the original box candy.

If you’re looking to pickup a Mesa 20/20, you’ll have a hard time finding a finer specimen than this one!

This is a used Mesa stereo power amp with 90 watts per side (180w total).  An incredible amount of power from legendary Mesa engineering.  I’ve used this amp for a number of years with a Mesa Triaxis and it has never let me down.  It does have many scratches and dings but all are cosmetic and the amp functions perfectly.  One thing I would like to point out is the missing Presence tone knob on the right side.  It plastic did break off, but the pot still works properly and can still be adjusted without the knob.  Again, the presence can still be adjusted and works fine.

Mesa Boogie Two Ninety all tube stereo guitar power amp. Excellent condition and everything works perfectly. I’m the original owner and I used this with a Mesa TriAxis -which was sold in a previous auction. All 8 tubes were just replaced a few months ago with 8 brand new matched quad set of Mesa brand tubes. The new tubes maybe have 6 to 8 hours use on them. There are scratches on the top and bottom left and right sides from pulling this heavy unit in/out of the rack. The bottom left rack ear corner has some scuffs and is very slightly bent -rackounts perfectly.
