In the anthropology of amplifiers, the Mark I™ is the missing link, the transitional brain-child which bridged the vintage and modern eras. In truth, the Mark I is both: Plugging into Input 2 reveals an amp wholly faithful to its classic roots, producing a big, clean, shimmering rhythm sound. But recognizing the guitar’s latent potential as a solo instrument, the Mark I unearthed the Bone Tone, a discovery of historic importance:

High Gain. Here for the first time was solo enhancement from the amplifier that produced a lead voice of singing sustain for guitar. This challenged the saxophone as the lead instrument in rock and signified Day One of the new AD calendar: After Distortion.

Carlos Santana, Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson, Keith Richards and Pete Townshend all helped catapult this new guitar sound into the international spotlight. This is a Mesa Boogie Mark I all original 1976 vintage tube guitar amp combo in excellent condition. This is the amp that started it all, the same one that Santana played. It’s the best sounding Mesa model ever in my opinion, so much better tone and sound than the current models of today. This is an awesome amplifier and works perfectly. Comes with leather slip cover. I just had it in with my tech who went through everything and verified that it’s working perfectly. This amp is in great shape for it’s age, just normal minor marks and wear on the tolex from standard use but overall in excellent shape. The faceplate does have a crack in it as you can see in the pics, but I talked with a Mesa rep and they said a new one can be ordered. has the original Mesa black shadow in it. Works just like new. Increasingly rare, very early (1974-1975) Mesa Boogie Mark I amp head – dymo-labeled serial number A503 – in cream tolex and brown grill cloth, and black Boogie extension cabinet of the same vintage. This compact heavy hitter is the first amplifier that started the Mesa Engineering legacy, and is still considered by many to be their best. Google, “Mesa Boogie Mark I”, for a wide range of info on the web. (Note: This is not the Mark I re-issue model.) One owner – purchased at Prune Music in Mill Valley, CA in 1975. Amp is 100% original and everything works. Included is a black 12″ Boogie extension cabinet,
purchased at the same time in 1975, with the original 12″ Altec (417-8H
Series II) speaker. This amp is known for having a great preamp section, with tremendous range and versatility. It also has loads of power (four 6L6 power tubes) and even at 60W is VERY LOUD with headroom for days! I can’t turn it above 1.5 or 2 at home or it’ll blow out the neighbors. In terms of condition, the push/pull on the gain control is a little scratchy, and the
insulation on the power cord is stressed in a couple of spots, otherwise
there are no compromises to note. Cosmetically, there is accumulated dust and minor tolex wear (as shown in pics) commensurate with moderate use over a lifespan of 35 years… and counting. Up for sale is a Mesa Boogie Mark IV Amplifier. This particular amp is
the older “Version A” Mark IV, which has tone similar to the legendary
Mark IIC+. It was manufactured in 1992, and is in excellent condition.
This is the short head model, which measures 19 inches in length.

This Mesa Mark IV works perfectly without any problems at all, and
sounds amazing. The Mesa power tubes are original, and still have plenty
of life left in them. This amp is in great condition, with only a
couple of tiny scuffs on the tolex. FU-3 footswitch and cover are not included. If
you’re looking for a Mark IV, this is the one you’ll need!

You are bidding on a Mesa Boogie Mark II-B amp. I bought it new in ’80. A true work horse of an amp in every aspect. It has reverb, graffics, 60/100 watt chassis. Everything is in excellent working order. I have had it gone through by my amp guru, the tubes are brand new. The amp is 30 years old, has some minor cosmetic blemishes, a couple of the EQ slider knobs are broken but still function properly. The ext. speaker cabinet is clean and works perfectly. Comes with foot switch an covers. The amp weighs 75 lbs. so shipped is high but I know how to pack one so it will travel. Local pick up saves shipping, cash sales only. Lower 48 only.
